Managing a hypo 3

A 23 year old known type 1 diabetic is brought into the emergency department

The scenario

“A 23 year old man is brought into the emergency department having been found collapsed on the street.  He is known to be a type 1 diabetic and has been maintaining very tight glycaemic control recently with frequent ‘hypos’ at home. The nurses perform a BM and it shows hypoglycaemia at 1.9 millimoles per litre.  By the time you see him he remains in an unconscious state”.
